"Don't ask yourself what the world needs...ask yourself what makes you alive because what the world needs are people who have come alive."

-Rainier Maria Rilke

"Trauma is personal. It does not disappear if it is not validated. When it is ignored or invalidated the silent screams continue internally heard only by the one held captive. When someone enters the pain and hears the screams healing can begin."

-Danielle Bernock

"You are not a victim for sharing your story. You are a survivor setting the world on fire with your truth. And you never know who needs your light, your warmth, and raging courage."

-Alex Elle

Who is the Madwoman?

Well of Love

The Madwoman is a core psychological, emotional, creative, and spiritual energy that inhabits every woman’s body, skin, and bones. She is the woman that wants to know herself, stripped of all bullsh**. She faces resistance with curiosity and compassion. The Madwoman is the heroine of her own life. She is the chaos of creation – and the path to love, Eros, spirituality, sexuality, creativity, and transformation.

The Madwoman walks outside the values of society, the norms, and is the breakthrough every woman must face to own her voice and body. She writes her own myth and creates a new archetype. Her fire of transformation is called the “fertile void” – where all possibility lives. Her sensitive and evolved soul is a mystery. The Madwoman is an experience where “meaning-making” ceases and “being” begins.

The Madwoman wants to recycle the “old self” – where one can go “crazy” or one can become brilliant with madness. Her passion, compassion, wild spirit, and creative nature is beautiful madness. She guides you to deep expression, rich feeling, creative living, and commitment to your intimate relationships (marriage, friendships, and family).

Are you a Madwoman?

Feet Above Her Head
Feet Above Her Head

As a human being, knowingly or unknowingly, you may have experienced complex trauma. Through negative family patterns, judgmental teachers, shaming spiritual beliefs, insensitive medical treatment, criticism from peers, and the more identified severity of abuse – all which are core triggers that fragment your wholeness – you can survive by plugging the holes, exuding toughness, repressing feelings, shunning fear, and judging depression and anxiety as weak.

Maybe you’ve run away in the “fight, flight, or freeze” response – hiding in perfectionism, positive thinking, fixing problems, and goal setting. Perhaps you’ve made choices that led to a road of crazy-making that controls and powers over the Madwoman, instead of nurturing and surrendering to the power within the Madwoman. Maybe now, you have chosen to come home to your body, receiving your madness and accept all your feelings, to cultivate your strength and vulnerability – making a conscious choice to live the path of the beautiful and brilliant Madwoman.

Willingness, readiness and a relentless desire to weave a deep and complicated relationship with yourself and life is the first step to meeting your Madwoman. This very readiness to come home to your body and emotions takes devotion, patience, and courage. This very readiness to be in uncertainty, curiosity, and self-inquiry is a deep trust. This very readiness to walk through the emotional fire with a fierceness and rebellion that rattles your sensibility and limited perceptions is the journey of the Madwoman. The readiness to face the madness of your shadow is the very juice, messiness, and aliveness that will evoke the Madwoman. She will elicit your greatest gifts, sincerest love, and truest calling.
